P2748 BMW Fault Code
Check P2748 OBD Fault Code ReasonThrottle Position (TP) Sensor Intermittent The TP sensor circuit is monitored by the PCM for sudden BMW TP rotation angle (or voltage) input change through the comprehensive component monitor (CCM). If during the last 80 warm-up cycles in key ON engine running the BMW PCM detects a TP rotation angle (or voltage) changes beyond the minimum or maximum calibrated limit, a continuous diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored. Poor continuity through the TP sensor connectors Poor continuity through the TP harness Intermittent open or short inside the TP sensor While accessing the TP V PID on the scan tool, lightly tap on the TP sensor or wiggle the TP sensor connector and harness.
P2748 Code Symptoms :
There are currently two main types of cylinder deactivation used today, depending on the type of engine. P2748 code for the pushrod design which uses solenoids to alter the oil pressure delivered to the lifters. In their collapsed state, the lifters are unable to elevate their companion pushrods under the valve rocker arms, resulting in valves that cannot be actuated and remain closed.
Diagnosis And Repairing P2748
P2748 OBD 2 code on vehicles with electronically controlled automatic transmissions, the 3-4 shift solenoid is responsible for actuating the hydraulic circuits to activate clutches or bands that change gears inside the automatic transmission.
How to fix P2748 code ?
- Air fuel ratio (A/F) Sensor 1 Bank 1 circuit poor electrical connection
- Engine Control Module (ECM)
- EVAP canister or fuel tank leaks
- Faulty Camshaft Position Sensor
Some systems require that the actuator has an adequate supply of brake fluid. Low brake fluid levels can mimic the symptoms of code P2748, so consult the manual to locate the brake fluid reservoir.
Bear in mind that a low fluid level can set code P2748 on some applications, so make sure that on fluid operated systems the fluid level is up to the mark before starting an electrical diagnosis.
